Our next production, "The Weaker Sex" - which Charlie is developing as a writer on attachment at the Oxford Playhouse - has been selected for a new writing showcase for female writers.

Fizzy Sherbet will be producing seven short plays at the Hackney Attic later this month.

Working with the Oxford Playhouse

Charlie is currently working as one of the writers on attachment at the Oxford Playhouse, developing Reverend's upcoming project "The Weaker Sex". Working with John Retallack and a team of six other writers, all working on full length plays. The writer's scheme runs through till June 2017.

Orlando Furioso

This month we produced a special dramatisation of Ariosto's poem "Orlando Furioso". This year marks the 500th Anniversary of the extraordinary poem and a new English verse dramatisation was performed at Pusey House in Oxford. Click here to read more.

Our cast and crew are extremely excited to start rehearsals this week for our Autumn tour. Jekyll & Hyde and Nerve play back to back and open at The Pleasance Theatre on 17th September.

After showcasing the first scene of "The Weaker Sex" at The Pleasance last month we are excited to say that we will be developing the full production for 2017.  Check out the scene -

We're incredibly excited to announce that we've just been awarded our first Arts Council Grant to tour Jekyll & Hyde and Nerve this Autumn.

This month we will be staging an extract of our new project "The Weaker Sex" as part of a new writing event: The Pit at TheatreN16.

 

We have been really happy to have actors Connor Mills and Holly Campbell join the team.

November 2015

A Younger Theatre have published an article on the 2015 grant winners. Click the icon to have a read. 

In Oxford this month we are procuding a staged reading and discussion of Shakespeare's Hamlet (the 1603 text). Featuring expert guest speakers, it takes place on 14th May from 2pm at Somerville college.

We've been selected for The Pleasance Theatre's scratch showcase in June. We will be developing 'The Weaker Sex' and performing and extract of the play on Monday 13th June.

April 2016

Throughout September and October 2016 we will be touring our new productions 'Jekyll & Hyde' and 'Nerve' throughout the South East. 

 

The double bill will visit The Pleasance and The Greenwich Theatre in addition to theatres in Oxford, Suffolk, Sussex, Bournemouth and others. The full touring list will be released in the coming weeks.

This month we have been assembling our creative teams for both our Autumn projects. After several intensive audition days both productions have been cast.

 

"Nerve" by Charlie Howitt is set to start rehearsals at The Park Theatre early next month and Emma Whipday's "Shakespeare's Sister" will be be performed on 11th September as a rehearsed reading.

Our very own Emma Whipday has had her script chosen as part of the Theatre Royal Haymarket's Masterclass season.

 

Her play "Shakespeare's Sister" was chosen as one of three scripts which will be produced in a showcase at the theatre. We are delighted to be producing it!

 

We're really excited to announce that our latest production - "Nerve" has been selected by The Park Theatre for their 'Accelerator' programme.

 

Writer and co-producers Charlie and Brian will be working with the venue throughout September on developing the show. Extracts will be performed in October.
